Today I thought I would post a video tutorial about how I use Mindnode to create vivid characters. Mindnode is probably the easiest tool for brainstorming and character mapping out there. A free version is available that allows you to use the basic functions, but the full version is only $20 and is well worth the money.
Roger Colby is a novelist and teacher who has taught English for nearly two decades. He is also an avid reader of science fiction who feels, like many other sci-fi readers, that he has read everything. He writes science fiction for the reader who is looking for the next best thing, something to excite them into reading again. This blog is his journey as a writer and his musings about writing. He also edits manuscripts for a fee and is an expert at helping you reach your full potential as a writer.

Seriously?? This gives me hope, or at least a fighting chance. Boy, do I ever need help with characters!

Check out this fabulous tutorial on how to use the Mindnode app to visualize your characters. I use Mindnode as well but could not describe the way my brain works with the program so clearly or succinctly. You can tell Roger is a teacher. If you like this explanation, check out his discussions on Scrivener.
