Sending One Book Along, Focusing On the Next One

This week was exciting!

I offered my book This Broken Earth as a completely free Kindle edition and watched as copy after copy was downloaded.  The final total was 689.

So what now?

I have raised the price of This Broken Earth to $2.99 which is still dirt cheap.  The point is, that if you are one of those people who downloaded a free copy, I expect you to read it and then tell your friends about it.  Even if you didn’t like it that much, you probably know someone who would really like it.

At least write a review.  Much work went into writing the novel, so the least you could do for getting a free one is to review it.

Now I will focus 100% on the next novel Come Apart.  It is a time travel novel to some extent, a mystery plot that slowly unravels thread by thread, that is very real about faith issues and alcoholism, a love story that is for all the people who wished they would have made that one connection years ago and regret it and with a theme of making the most of the life that we have before we grow too old to amend our mistakes.

I will say nothing else about the plot, and am being cryptic for a reason, as I feel that it is some of the best writing I have ever penned (or typed…).  It is my hope that people who read it can find not just an engaging science fiction tale but also a story that reaches to the heart of who we are as humans and speaks to precious things we may have left behind because of short-sightedness, selfishness or pride.

I had better get back to writing it, for it will not write itself.  The scene I have to write today is a sad one, and I need all the encouragement I can muster.  It will be hard, but I know I can do it.  That is what writing is, anyway.
